Industrial Power Quality Delivered Project
High Voltage Compensation Unit
PROJECT OVERVIEW

Conditions, engineering scope and outcome

Project Conditions

The site required centralized high-voltage reactive power compensation for an outdoor distribution network supplying large inductive loads. The configuration had to improve power factor while remaining suitable for the bus voltage, switching duty, local climate and maintenance access.

Engineering Scope

  • Reviewed transformer capacity, load cycle, existing power factor and available installation area.
  • Coordinated capacitor capacity, reactor parameters, switching stages, protection and enclosure arrangement.
  • Prepared drawings and factory inspection items around the confirmed site interface.

Project Outcome

The completed unit provided controlled reactive power support, reduced unnecessary reactive current and established a clear operating target above 0.95 power factor without treating the capacitor bank as a standard catalogue assembly.
