Product Introduction

With the increasing number of harmonic-generating loads in modern industrial and commercial power systems, harmonic distortion has become a significant threat to grid stability and equipment performance. Harmonic resonance and voltage waveform distortion may lead to overheating, malfunction, or even severe failure of electrical equipment.
A series tuning reactor installed with a capacitor bank forms a harmonic suppression circuit. It shifts the resonant frequency below the lowest harmonic order in the system.
Under normal power frequency, the system remains capacitive to improve power factor, while becoming inductive at harmonic frequencies to prevent resonance and harmonic amplification.
When properly tuned (e.g. targeting the 5th harmonic), the capacitor-reactor branch can absorb approx. 30%–50% of harmonic currents, improving power quality and ensuring reliable operation of compensation equipment and the entire power network.
