The HYSVC high-voltage dynamic reactive power compensation and filtering system combines a thyristor-controlled reactor with fixed capacitor and filter branches. Installed centrally on a substation busbar or close to a fluctuating nonlinear load, it regulates reactive power, supports bus voltage and limits characteristic harmonics for arc furnaces, rolling mills, mining equipment and other impact loads.

Types of SVC

  • Centralized SVC
    Installed at the high-voltage busbar of a substation or distribution room, typically within the range of 6 kV–35 kV, to provide centralized reactive power compensation for the entire load. Currently, centralized SVC is widely adopted in domestic applications.
  • Distributed SVC
    Installed close to large-scale impact or nonlinear loads (such as rectifiers or arc furnaces), providing localized compensation for specific loads. Distributed SVC reduces transformer burden, improves local voltage stability, and mitigates negative impacts of load fluctuations.
