SOLUTION OVERVIEW
Engineering scope and operating conditions
Voltage and reactive power control at critical grid nodes
Substations and renewable-energy connections must manage changing feeder demand and fluctuating solar, wind or storage output while meeting point-of-connection requirements. Compensation response, harmonic performance and protection must be coordinated with the real grid strength and operating modes.
Recommended system configuration
- High-voltage SVG, SVC or MSVC for dynamic voltage and reactive power support.
- High-voltage capacitor banks for stable base reactive power requirements.
- Tuned filtering where converters or network resonance affect harmonic compliance.
- Protection, cooling and communication arranged around the substation interface.
Engineering data required
Provide bus voltage, transformer and feeder data, minimum and maximum generation or load, short-circuit capacity, harmonic report, operating modes and grid-code targets. These inputs determine capacity, response speed, filter tuning and installation arrangement.
